The Original Sin Network was created in 2001. It is owned and operated by Amokk and Luca. The game began as Vampire: the Masquerade. The Network eventually began running "Mini-games" which included Werewolf: the Apocalypse, WtA: BSD, and a Werewolf: the Wild West game was planned but never implemented.

In late 2005, the mini-game of Vampire: the Requiem began planning, and was implemented in January 2006 along with the Werewolf: the Forsaken game. On 15 November 2006, the VtM game was shut down, with the bot Canaille ending with this message: [09:00] * DIE BY Amokk!amokk@storyteller.original-sin.net (end of VTM at 9am 11/15/06) and the Requiem mini-game, by that time fleshing out into a full World of Darkness game, became the main game.

Over time the game slowly morphed into a more World of Darkness oriented environment. In May of 2008 the game officially changed over. From that point on the main game was World of Darkness. Vampire: the Requiem and Werewolf: the Forsaken characters became antagonists the now focused on mortal based characters (including vanilla mortals, wolf-blooded, psychics, ghouls, skinchangers, etc).

In August of 2008 Mage characters were also opened as antagonist characters, but would shortly be removed from the game due to player abuse.

In December of 2009, work began on moving the setting from Tokyo to New York City as a fresh new setting. Three new character types were opened for the new setting.
