IRC is the shorthand name of Internet Relay Chat, and is where we play the game.


You can get various clients on your operating system to use it, or if you're a player and temporarily blocked from accessing a full client, you can use the PJIRC (clicking will automatically load the client!) extension we have on the wiki. The links below go to either the client website with a download link or directly to the download.


Recommended Clients

This is a port of the Unix/X-Windows X-Chat program to Aqua. It's a good client with powerful scripting and a full set of features including spell check, and it's open source.

  • xChat (Windows and Linux)

X-Chat is a fully featured IRC client by Peter Zelezny; it uses the GTK toolkit and can be compiled to use GNOME and PERL scripting. X-Chat is said to be very similar to the Amiga AmIRC IRC client.

Supports multiple servers and appears fully featured and scriptable.

Popular Macintosh IRC client. High functionality, colors, scripting.

Built-in spell checking, scripting in vbscript, jscript, perl and python, multiple server support, skinnable interface, with publicly available source.
