Character Description

Francis is a well-built but small, 5'5" white man with short blond hair and piercing blue eyes. He wears a white and blue athletic jacket overtop a black undershirt and loose fitting cargo pants along with a thin black collar around his neck. (Presence 3)

Character Background

Francis grew up as the quiet unassuming kid in the back of the class everyone picked on because they knew he wouldn't fight back. His parents were workaholics and barely paid him mind, not even bothering with getting a babysitter when he was old enough. As he grew older, he got more and more depressed. He felt trapped in the world and longed for escape.

He found a few old occult books in a local garage sale, apparently someone had died and they were selling his stuff. He thought the books were incredibly fascinating, soaking up the words and wondering over the thought of those things being real and how 'cool' it would be.

Eventually, after a particularly harsh day, his parents out of town and his eye blackened from bullying... he felt truly desperate for escape and turned to the books and a ritual he saw there, one that would let him escape as a bird.

He followed the rites given in the book and killed his pet dove in the process and slashing himself to mix his blood with it's. For a few moments, he felt like he was dying and he welcomed it... and then he wasn't.

He was reborn as a dove that day and it somehow lent strength to him gave him the extra will he needed to continue.

His parents didn't realize his bird was gone for a while, and when they asked he merely told them it had died while they were gone.

From that day, something of the dove's unassuming nature carried over to him and the bullies started to pay him even less mind, the teachers too... in fact, he noticed that he was ignored by almost everyone. While this made him lonely, he felt a confidence in that he was less likely to be harassed like before.

A couple years later his parents' jobs took them to Tokyo, Japan. They were doing well for money, and he convinced them to send him to a private school appealing to the thought of him being out of the house and staying in the dorms.

Now he attends ISSH as a Sophomore, and a member of the Track team. Even if he doesn't have wings all the time, he still always loves the feel of the wind rushing past him, to fly in the air or on the ground.

For the most part, his classmates haven't noticed him unless he's taken the effort to get their attention, but he's been steadily becoming more happy with himself.

After graduating ISSH, Francis went on to attend a culinary college in New York. While studying, he worked in kitchens, first as a dish washer, then eventually as a part time cook.

Since his time in Japan, he has grown more confident and outgoing, even managing to work his way into a parkour club. It was there that he met his now girlfriend, Adeline (Addie).

As of now, he's just finishing up a four year program and is already working as a chef for an italian restaurant (though, not head chef). He's risen to be one of the best in his parkour club and makes videos with them to post online. He currently resides in an apartment in Brooklyn with his girlfriend.
