Hunting information and Rules

Canaille keeps track of your Vitae. Vitae is lowered by 1 each day at noon US Central time to represent the nightly cost of waking up for Kindred. Those with powers or bloodlines that alter this are the exception. If your character is at negative Vitae, you will need to talk to an ST to fix the situation.

All hunting rolls must be made in #help. All Kindred are limited to one hunting roll per day unless approved by an ST.

There is no command for hunting: use a normal dice roll. You are required to report the results to amaterasu on Canaille via the note system.

The following list contains rolls you may use, but it is not a complete list. If you talk to an ST before rolling, your character can have a personalized way of hunting approved and that roll will be listed on your sheet, or if you wish to change how your Kindred hunts, that can be done on a per hunt basis with ST approval.

Only the modifiers listed here will be accepted without prior ST permission.

Results

Kindred gain 1 point of vitae for every success on their hunt roll. If a character needs more or wishes to take the risk, instead of a roll, they may fill their Vitae Pool by taking a Dramatic Failure. You must get this approved first. You may only choose to roll or take the Dramatic Failure, not both.

Frenzy

Wassail, or Hunger Frenzy, applies when a Kindred is feeding. If the Kindred has 1 or fewer Vitae, they have a -2 penalty to their Resolve+Composure roll. If they have 2-4 Vitae, they have a -1 penalty to their Resolve+Composure roll. Kindred with 5 or more are subject to a Frency Check at ST discretion. Generally, those with less than 50% of their total Vitae Pool should roll to check against Frenzy, needing 2 successes to resist it. Some flaws and drawbacks, such as the Bruja flaw, give a greater penalty to this roll, and also would roll more often. Check with an ST to determine if and when a roll is appropriate for your character.
